LMS Tournament -
Qball - 18th Jun 2005 15:04
|
The number of entries is sufficient to be starting this tournament now but the first round will not commence tomorrow as previously stated. I've been working crazy amounts of hours at work and just haven't had time to sort it out.
The first round will commence next Sunday, the 26th of June and during the course of the week, groups, times, maps and servers will be posted for your viewing pleasure. |

Small Update -
Qball - 09th Jun 2005 18:11
|
Well it appears there may be the demand for a small tournament. 21 entries so far which may not sound a lot but considering this game has been almost dead for 3 years now that's not bad at all.
I'm going to leave entries open for another week, they'll close on Thursday 16th June at 23:59p.m just for a touch of professionalism (and because i'll be working nights by then so won't get in before then to update anyway) and the tournament will begin with the first round on Sunday 19th June.
I've received a note of concern regarding the [KsR] server which i've yet to investigate but based on specification and the age of ahl there's no reason it should be laggy. I'm looking for alternate servers anyway so if someone has a server they'd be willing to donate for an hour or so on Sunday and again the following Sunday then get in touch with me and i'll test it.
Sundays will be the day of the tournament, first round will hopefully run all in one night and unless there's a rush of entries between now and closing date both the 2nd round and the final round will be held the following Sunday unless I receive a wave of complaints and cancellations over this choice of night. Sunday at 20:00 GMT most likely.
Players per round, groupings and map choices will be posted after entries close. |

Life In The Old Dog Yet ? -
Qball - 27th May 2005 21:53
|
Word has reached me that there may be the demand for a tournament to be run in AHL. I understand a Teamplay Tournament is under construction but they're waiting for DC2 before rolling forwards.
So to fill the gap i'm announcing opening of entries for a Random Last Man Standing Tournament hosted on the [KsR] Server(s) with the website of Jolt here being used purely for convenience.
You can signup in the Tournament Section of the site and read all there is to read about it for now, most details cannot be decided until it becomes apparant how many people are interested in this.
I'm not looking for this to be waiting very long, hopefully getting started in 2 or 3 weeks time, if it's a success then other events will follow, it all depends if the demand is there by the few AHL faithful that remain.

Oh My ... A Post !! -
Qball - 19th Jan 2005 19:48
|
As unlikely as it that anyone will stumble across this site there is news for the first time in almost exactly a year so it deserves a new post.
Action Half-Life has been given a slight life extension in the form of AHL:Directors Cut. This new version adds many tweaks and changes to AHL V1.0 designed to enhance the game. It is, in the opinion of it's creators, the AHL that V1.0 should have been.
With no disrespect intended to the original A-Team as they announced no further work would be done on AHL this is more a homage to them and succeeds impressively.
Slight tweaks to all weapons as well as a number of other changes have been made, a full list is viewable in the readme file or on the site.
The mod can be downloaded from www.ministryofaction.net
It will install over AHL V1.0 so if you intend to carry on playing then make a backup. Director's Cut is a work in progress meaning future releases are intended including the long (long, long, long) return of goals to maps.
As Jolt no longer carry any servers for AHL (DC or otherwise) I shall pimp the [KsR] Action-Tastic Server which invariably has an admin nearby in #ksr on Quakenet and has a altered map rotation to include some of the older classic maps : 213.253.57.28:27017 - [KsR] Action Tastic Server |

V 1.0 and the Downloads Sect... -
Qball - 22nd Oct 2003 22:04
|
Hey,
V1.0 of AHl is due to be released on Friday and a copy of the file will be available for download here at Jolt, AHL has it's own section on the files site at :
www.files.jolt.co.uk>
The servers will also be steam-ised for V1.0 and now that I've figured out how to use this download system I'll be adding Maps, Models and anything else that people want hosted of use to AHL players. Hopefully v1.0 will spark a final resurgance of ahl players and kick start the community into one final killing spree. |

Apologies -
Qball - 25th Sep 2003 15:42

My apologies to all concerned with the nations cup tournament final and in particular Germany, who's win has gone unmentioned for so long.
My heartiest congratulations go out to them and commiserations to the Austrian team.
The night of the final I had an accident at work, slicing through the tendon in my thumb and spent the next few days in hospital, I didnt just ignore you ;p
Congrats again. |
